Responsible business: Bath Social Impact Network
Welcome to the Responsible Business series, dedicated to empowering businesses of all sizes to better support their employees. Through insightful conversations and expert advice from our members, we aim to provide you with the tools and strategies needed to make a positive impact. This month, we’re excited to feature Initiative member Bath Spa University to share some information about the Bath Social Impact Network (BSIN).
What is the Bath Social Impact Network (BSIN)?
Bath Social Impact Network (BSIN) brings together like-minded groups and individuals to improve and grow the social economy in Bath and Northeast Somerset.
First launched in 2023 as a partnership between Bath Spa University and 3SG, the Bath Social Impact Network is the first of its kind in Bath and Northeast Somerset (B&NES).
Supporting social enterprises, B Corps and community organisations in Bath
The network, which now has over 220 members, was created with social enterprises at the heart, along with B Corps, CICs and Co-ops. BSIN welcomes any organisation that wants to have a positive social impact across the community.
They support B&NES-based members by:
- Offering guidance for those looking to start a social enterprise or achieve B Corp status
- Creating opportunities for social enterprises to influence change at both local and national levels
- Signposting funding opportunities within the sector
- Providing tailored networking events for different types of organisations
Events and networking opportunities for social enterprises in Bath
BSIN has held past events exploring topics including the funding landscape of B&NES, social enterprise accreditation and how network members can collaborate in the future.
BSIN currently offer bi-monthly networking opportunities across their three subgroups. At the heart of BSIN is openness and collaboration, so even if you don't feel like you totally fit into a subgroup, go along to any event and see what they're about; you never know who you might bump into.
Meet BSIN’s first full-time manager: Lizzy Rees
BSIN has been busy throughout 2025, having relaunched in March to introduce three new subgroups: Social Enterprises, Better Business (B Corps) and Cultural Organisations. The relaunch was closely followed by the appointment of BSIN’s first full-time manager, Lizzy Rees.
The future of BSIN is still evolving through conversations and feedback. By September, Lizzy is hoping to propose to the network what the next year and beyond might look like, and she's always looking for ideas and opinions to shape her thinking.
If you fancy an online call or a coffee, whether you've got an idea or just fancy telling BSIN a bit more about your business, they are open to collaboration. Contact the BSIN team by email or visit BSIN’s website to book your place at their upcoming events.
If you'd like to follow BSIN on social media, you can do so on LinkedIn here, and more information about the BSIN or how to sign up can be found on their website. Also, if you are a Chamber member and would like to be featured in a blog just like this one, then you can get in touch with Amy.
