S&W marks new chapter with new brand and Bristol office move
-
S&W, the accountancy and advisory firm, has recently launched a new brand and relocated its 170-strong Bristol team to the EQ building at 111 Victoria Street, just a short walk from Bristol Temple Meads train station. These changes reflect a broader evolution in how the firm presents itself to clients, colleagues, and the wider business community.
The new brand builds on the legacy of Smith & Williamson, founded in 1881, while signalling a more focused, agile, and client-led approach. Now operating independently from Evelyn Partners and backed by funds advised by Apax Partners LLP, S&W is investing in talent, technology, and services to support long-term growth.
The move to EQ building for the Bristol office reflects the firm’s commitment to creating a modern, collaborative environment that supports flexible working and deeper client engagement. The building’s sustainability credentials—including BREEAM Outstanding and EPC A targets - also align with S&W’s environmental values.
S&W combines its heritage with a forward-looking brand and philosophy to cement its leadership position in the accountancy mid-market. The Bristol office - previously located at Portwall Place - provides a broad range of services to individuals and businesses, including audit, accountancy, corporate finance, outsourcing, and personal and business tax. It works with entrepreneurs, SMEs, medium and large corporates, private clients, professional practices, and not-for-profit organisations.
The Bristol team is also highly active in the local community, having raised nearly £18,000 for charitable causes in 2024 and participating in numerous community initiatives. Recent efforts include supporting the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity to locate additional defibrillators in the city, collecting sanitary products for Period Friendly Places to help tackle period poverty, and working with Spear to welcome a group of local young people into the office to help prepare them for the world of work.
Helen Bassett, Regional Managing Partner for Bristol, commented:
“Coming hot on the heels of the launch of our new brand, we are pleased to have relocated our expanding Bristol team to the EQ development. The move supports our regional growth strategy and our ambition to help more clients across the South West manage their personal and business affairs.
“Our new office provides a contemporary working environment in a dynamic part of the city, with excellent facilities for both our people and our clients. The events spaces at EQ will also support our ongoing programme of seminars and networking events for the local business community.”
S&W operates across 15 locations in the UK and Ireland, with the Bristol office playing a key role in its regional strategy and future growth.
